Fitz Alan Chapter is a thriving and active Masonic Chapter with a membership of around 50, making it the second-largest in the county of Shropshire. Based in the historic market town of Oswestry, the Chapter is fortunate to hold its meetings in a purpose-built Masonic Hall, a well-appointed facility that enhances the overall experience for both members and visitors.
The Chapter primarily draws its members from the three Oswestry Lodges, fostering a strong sense of community and camaraderie. However, Fitz Alan Chapter is known for its welcoming nature, and members from other lodges, both within and outside the Province, are always warmly encouraged to join its meetings. This inclusivity helps to maintain a rich diversity of experience and perspectives within the Chapter.
One of the Chapter's most notable attributes is the high standard of its ritual work, a source of pride for its members. The attention to detail and dedication to upholding the traditions of Masonic ritual make each meeting a meaningful and memorable occasion. In addition to the seriousness with which they approach the ritual, the Chapter is equally renowned for the lively and enjoyable atmosphere of its Festive Boards. These post-meeting gatherings are a time for fellowship, dining, and celebration, reflecting the strong bonds that exist among the Companions.
Oswestry, as a key hub of Masonry in Shropshire, offers a vibrant and welcoming environment for Masons. Fitz Alan Chapter plays a central role in this dynamic Masonic community, continually striving to foster brotherhood, tradition, and enjoyment. Visitors are always encouraged to attend Chapter meetings, where they can expect a warm reception and the opportunity to share in the rich Masonic traditions upheld by the Chapter.
