After COVID-19

Will there ever be an ‘after’?

Above see King William’s Lodge 3883 in the Isle of Man, pictured on 31st July this year at their first meeting following lockdown. The Island has been Covid-free since mid-July, and restrictions there have now been lifted. For Shropshire, it is still necessary to comply with Government and local guidelines. It is also necessary to be safe. We also believe it is necessary - having taken the first two points into consideration - to do everything that can be done to resume our Freemasonry as soon as possible.

Meetings

Business meetings and Lodges of Instruction/Rehearsal have already been held, successfully and safely. Installations and Passings can be held with some slight adaptations and social distancing. The Wellington Summer School is just one of several centres to have experimented successfully with a modified Initiation ceremony which is dignified and meaningful to the Candidate. Only the Raising is still unable to go ahead - but with more than a dozen new Candidates waiting to come in to our Province, they should be our priority. Finally, good quality Lectures are clearly not just possible but even desirable. If your Lodge needs help finding a speaker, please contact the Provincial Grand Orator.

Festive Boards

These are difficult to arrange - please see the Provincial Grand Master’s comments under COVID-19 guidance, and this guidance will be updated to keep everyone informed and our actions consistent and lawful.
