Forester Lodge holds Open Day

On the 17th of October in 1952, a Masonic Lodge was formed in Wellington in honour of the Lord Forester, then the Provincial Grand Master and so the leader of all Shropshire Freemasons, a position of responsibility he held until he retired in 1977.

The Lodge to which he gave his name, Forester Lodge, is celebrating its 70th birthday next month and as an introduction, is inviting anyone who wants to find out about freemasonry, its links to medieval stonemasons and its 300 years of service to local communities to an open event at the Masonic Hall, Constitution Hill, Wellington.

On Friday 16th September, from 6pm to 9pm, the members of the lodge will open the doors to non-Masons and invites everyone to come along and meet the members and learn more about Freemasonry and its vital contribution to UK and overseas charities. In recent years, Freemasonry has become much more open about what it does, with the stated aim of making good men better. If that idea appeals to you, or even if you just want to find out about what goes on why not come along, and learn more? And this isn’t a men-only affair:  the Masonic Hall also hosts a Lodge of Lady Freemasons!

Several lodges meet at the Masonic Hall, Constitution Hill, Wellington, TF1 3AY, with Forester Lodge meeting on the third Friday evening of October, November, January, February, March, and April.

Light refreshments will be available. For more information, please contact Paul Brennan, 07703-261812 or paul@adastra.training.
