Old Ben Initiation

At the latest meeting of Old Ben lodge, the latest in a flood of new Initiates joined Freemasonry in Shropshire.

Owen Wear was Initiated at a happy meeting, with his father Steve on hand to witness the ceremony that he himself went through just three years ago. Sadly. Steve’s father Allan - also a member - passed away recently and was remembered in a “Lodge of Sorrow”.

“Old Ben” refers to the Newsvendors’ Old Benevolent charity. Not many of its current members are newsvendors, but the attractions of having a Saturday lodge make it popular with members and visitors alike.
