Masonic Fishing Charity event at Ellerdine Lakes

On an almost sunny, somewhat gusty and almost rain-free afternoon in late May, the MFC was busy again, with some thirty schoolchildren aged 10 and upwards enjoying a fishing experience at Ellerdine Lakes, north of Telford. Peter and Petrina Robinson once again managed the event with assistance from a band of Freemasons (and wives!) who supported the event.

Conditions were difficult for casting, and it seemed that for much of the time there were more fish jumping that biting! Nevertheless, as can be seen above, there was some success, and the children who attended from two different local schools enjoyed their day out - especially the burgers and hot dogs at tea-time!

Provincial Mentor David Purslow was there in two guises - Masonic and professional - and Deputy Provincial Grand Master Jeremy Lund and Junior Warden Andy Delamere also attended. Thanks go to the ‘fishermen’ who assisted, and especially to Peter and Petrina - who are always grateful for knowledge of any Masonic fishing enthusiasts who are willing to help at future events!
