Message from the Shrewsbury Food Hub

Salopian Lodge of Charity 117 was delighted to welcome guest Katy Anderson from the Shrewsbury Food Hub, who has helped the lodge manage the provision of a van to the Shrewsbury Food Hub in 2021 which has doubled the amount of food being moved to needy places by that charity. Here is a short message:

Dear Ron and everyone at Salopian Lodge of Charity 117

Thank you so much for inviting us to be part of your Christmas Festivities last week.  It was great to learn more about how the lodge works and to be part of the Masonic family for the evening.  Excellent food and company!

We were blown away by your amazingly generous donation of £1,000 which will help us create merrier Christmases across Shrewsbury.

Please accept our heartfelt thanks for all your financial support.  It has kept us going throughout the pandemic.   Without Ronnie the van we would not have been able to continue operating last year.  Thanks to you we are able to save the Ark more than 55% of their food budget and help stretch the budget of the 3,000 people who eat Food Hub surplus food every week.  It also helps protect the environment and reduce climate change impacts.

Your moral support has also been invaluable.  It has been lovely to get to know you and you have raised our spirits during these challenging times.  We really look forward to welcoming you to the depot or even better a surplus feast in the new year once COVID has settled down.

Wishing you a very happy, healthy Christmas and New Year.

Very best wishes

Shrewsbury Food Hub
