Clive Lodge is one of two Masonic Lodges that meet at the Grove School Sixth Form Centre in Market Drayton. Established in 1876, it is one of the older lodges in the county and has a rich heritage, originally founded by farmers, solicitors and other professionals in the town, it now has a very broad range of members from all walks of life and all are welcome.
Clive Lodge meets seven times a year from September to April on the second Monday, with no meeting in December, but we have a festive meal with partners and guests instead, and there is usually a Sunday Lunch in March to which partners and guests are also invited.
The atmosphere is relaxed and new members are encouraged as we have had a steady flow of new initiates over the past three years which have swelled numbers. Rehearsals take place on the Thursday before each meeting for those involved in the ceremonies and there is a Lodge of Instruction on the third Monday for the education and encouragement of new members and further rehearsal.
Charity is an important part of the Lodge and we continually raise substantial sums for Masonic and non-Masonic charities including many local causes such as the Hospice, Air Ambulance, Blood Bikes etc. Much of the money going the Masonic Charities is also distributed to non-masonic causes.
