Profile Lodge
St Alkmund Lodge Number 2311 is one of two Craft lodges whose home is in Whitchurch, North Shropshire, and is warranted by the United Grand Lodge of England in the Province of Shropshire.
We meet on the second Wednesday of the months September through to April each year, in our own Masonic Hall, which is sited in Castle Hill, Whitchurch, Shropshire SY13 1BQ.
We own and share the building with the other Craft lodge called The Roden Lodge. Owning our building allows us to determine who uses the premises and does involve members being prepared, where they have the right skills, to be active to support the fabric of the building.
Once you get involved in the activity of Freemasonry, an individual may wish to extend his understanding of the Science, by attending the rehearsal, usually the Friday, prior to the formal lodge meeting and then the Lodge of Instruction, a much less formal event, on the third Wednesday of the month.
We all share three common goals in Masonry, being, Brotherly Love, Relief, and Truth and we come from a wide and varied range of professional, scientific, and farming communities and a wide range of adult ages.
We also hold a number of social events during the year within which we hope that wives and partners of members will attend, and so enjoy the company and fellowship of like-minded people.
