Lodge Profile: One of the newest, and most distinctive Lodges in the Province of Shropshire, 9971 welcomes as members any existing Mason who has been awarded that most valuable of all Provincial Ranks; that of Provincial Grand Steward (Active or Past); To recognise our shared value of Service, the Founders determined that this would extend to any Provincial, District or Grand Steward in any recognised Order of Masonry – so if you are reading this and you hold or and have held such an honour then please come and join us ( and furthermore of course, our meetings are open to all Craft Masons who would like to visit.)

The Lodge meets on just two occasions each year, the Installation Meeting being held on Fourth Thursday in March at Crewe Street in Shrewsbury and the second meeting on the fourth Thursday of September at a Lodge Room of the Masters choice; no limits, have Warrant will travel! Above all we aim to have fun and to share the enjoyment of our Masonry; we all share one Rank in the Lodge - “Provincial Steward” - and wear our steward’s regalia with pride irrespective of any higher rank we may hold.

The main thrust of the Lodge is not the business in our own meetings however, but in the principal that we are a working Lodge; We have already proved on a number of occasions the disparate and capable skills of Stewards everywhere – Welcoming Guests at Provincial Meetings and the 2019 Charity Festival, being involved in Car Parking and ancillary arrangements and perhaps the most welcome task – serving wine. We also welcome invitations from Lodges to support them on Initiation nights and other special occasions and to provide assistance to Lodges with gaps in offices and the delivery of ritual.
