Idsall Lodge supporting the local community - once again!

On the 10th August 2021, Idsall Lodge No. 7133 presented a Cheque for £1000 to the MHA Communities in Shifnal & District. The presentation took place at the Melville Club in Albrighton where the MHA Albrighton Branch regularly meet on Tuesdays. The MHA Shifnal Branch have now found new meeting places & hope to be up & running by mid-September. The £1000 will help to purchase 2 gazebos {for meetings outside} & finance 2 more newsletters.

The MHA scheme, currently supports 260 elderly people in the community enabling them to live a fuller active life in their latter years. They offer a variety of services, which recently have altered drastically, encompassing, delivery of regular newsletter & goodie bags, prescription collection, Chippy Tuesday & hot meal delivery & masses of telephone befriending. In the past 12 months MHA have delivered 8,320 befriending telephone calls, 1400 doorstep prescription deliveries, 2720 wellbeing gifts & 1660 hot meals.

Idsall Lodge No. 7133 is proud to support the MHA Communities in Shifnal & District, maybe more so as Idsall Lodge No. 7133 was Consecrated in Shifnal in 1952, meeting at the St. Andrews Hall. If you know any elderly/lonely people in Shifnal & Albrighton who would benefit from the MHA scheme then please do not hesitate to contact Rachel on 07985 202556. The photograph shows Mrs Niccy Cottle {MHA Albrighton Branch} & Mrs Mavis Taft receiving the Cheque from Richard Webster {Lodge Charity Steward,} Bob Payne {Lodge Treasurer}, & Bob Williams {Lodge Secretary}.

After the Cheque presentation the Lodge members were treated to afternoon tea followed by Bingo !!
